Chuck Norris passed away peacefully at his Hawaii home at age 86, his family announced. Known worldwide for his martial arts mastery and action-hero roles, he was rushed to hospital Thursday morning but did not recover. “To the world, he was a martial artist, actor and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother and the heart of our family,” the family said in a statement. They added that he lived with faith, purpose and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Norris rose to fame as Texas Ranger Cordell Walker on the 1990s hit series Walker, Texas Ranger. He held a black belt in multiple disciplines and delivered one of his final major roles in The Expendables 2. He recently celebrated his birthday with the quip, “I don’t age… I level up.” More details to follow.
