Courtroom Drama as Lawyers Clash Over ‘Justice Crack’s’ Bail Representation
A dramatic scene unfolded at the Federal High Court in Abuja when two lawyers, Femi Balogun and Marshall Abubakar, both sought to represent Chidiebere Mark, known online as Justice Crack, during his bail hearing. Mark, arraigned by the Department of State Services on cybercrime charges after sharing a viral video alleging inadequate feeding of Nigerian soldiers, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge. The Attorney-General of the Federation has since taken over the prosecution from the DSS. When Justice Joyce Abdulmalik asked Mark to confirm his counsel, he pointed to Balogun. The judge then struck out Abubakar’s filed processes, including his bail application, and adjourned proceedings to May 18 for a fresh bail request.
