Kano State Launches Plan to Eliminate Mosquitoes, Aiming for a Malaria-Free State

Kano State Ministry of Health has outlined measures to rid the state of mosquitoes and end malaria infections. The Commissioner of Health announced partnerships with federal and development agencies to secure antimalarial drugs, diagnostic kits, and essential supplies. He highlighted that Kano accounts for about 18% of Nigeria’s reported malaria cases and urged urgent action. Residents are encouraged to maintain clean environments, remove stagnant water, and use insecticide-treated nets. Anyone with fever, headache, or weakness should seek prompt testing and treatment at a health facility.

Absolutely! Local folks fit join by clearing standing water, distributing nets, and joining awareness sessions—small steps, big impact.
