Ekiti Police Arrest Two Suspects Linked to Attack on NURTW Officials in Ikere-Ekiti
The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two men for their alleged role in an attack on National Union of Road Transport Workers officials. According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Sunday Abutu, about 20 armed hoodlums stormed the NURTW Lagos Motor Park at 8:00 a.m. on April 2, 2026. Officers recovered a Toyota Previa bus, three cutlasses and a jackknife. Two suspects, Sunday Ogunsakin and Gbenga Oluwatosin, were taken into custody while others escaped. Commissioner of Police Falade Adegoroye Michael urged residents to uphold the law and avoid taking matters into their own hands. He warned against actions that threaten public peace and reaffirmed the force’s commitment to maintaining calm in the state.
