Nigerian Man Arrested in Delhi Over Alleged Possession of 23.74g MDMA
Delhi Police say they arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian, Chidera Jonathan, after allegedly recovering 23.74 grams of MDMA during an operation near the Civic Centre in the Kamla Market area. Police said Jonathan had overstayed his medical-attendant visa after arriving in India in October 2024. He was also allegedly wanted under Operation VISTA, an initiative targeting foreign nationals whose visas have expired. Investigators allege that he obtained the drugs from another Nigerian national in Tughlakabad Extension and sold narcotics to cover his daily expenses. A case has been registered under India’s NDPS Act, while further investigations continue.
