CSCI Africa Inaugurates Planning Committee for 2026 South East Security Summit

CSCI Africa Inaugurates Planning Committee for 2026 South East Security Summit

CSCI Africa has inaugurated its Local Organising Committee for the upcoming South East Nigeria Security and Strategic Leadership Summit 2026. The event at Heritage Villa Hotels in Abakaliki brought together Igbo leaders, traditional rulers, stakeholders and development partners. Amb. Stanley-Duke Ngene, founder of CSCI Africa and CEO of AnyanwuConnect Limited, stressed that security consciousness is the moral compass of a society and a critical pillar for growth. Since its launch in May 2023, CSCI Africa has rolled out pilot security projects in Ebonyi, including the Okposi Ezinasato Project, and trained over 150 individuals across six African countries. Partnerships with international organisations have also unlocked scholarships, remote job opportunities and sustainable farming initiatives that boost local incomes. Key programmes introduced include the SecuraNG security framework aligned with the federal state policing agenda, the “Launching Leaders and Leadership by LIGHT” poverty reduction initiative, and the AI-driven “Studyflares for Schools” educational tool. Stakeholders are urged to collaborate on actionable resolutions to strengthen regional security and drive socio-economic growth.

Not convinced security talks alone will reach grassroots needs without parallel focus on local policing reforms.

Not every development partner has the same agenda, so aligning on actual security strategies might prove challenging.

I'm not convinced a summit in Abakaliki alone can address the deeper security issues across the entire South East region.

Local stakeholders should start mapping out risk hotspots now and collaborate with the committee on grassroots security monitoring initiatives ahead of 2026.
