EFCC Arrests Self-Styled Prophet for Alleged N70m Church Fraud
Operatives of the EFCC’s Enugu Zonal Directorate have arrested Godwin Sunday Ajuluchukwucheya, known as Prophet Sunday Koboko, over claims he defrauded church members of ₦70,391,600. A petitioner says he paid the prophet ₦6,231,400 for spiritual deliverance and ₦3,251,200 to help his sister-in-law conceive. He was also told the prophet had won ₦33bn in a lotto game and contributed ₦3,349,000 toward promised dividends. Members were further lured to invest in a supposed ₦1bn rice processing machine, handing over ₦500,000. In total, the petitioner says he sent ₦13,331,600 without results. Investigations reveal the suspect sold “prosperity” products—miracle stickers, spiritual dragon and “holy ghost thunder”—with no benefit to buyers. He will be charged to court once inquiries conclude.
