David Packouz: From US Arms Dealer to Music Tech Innovator

David Packouz (b. February 16, 1982) first made headlines as co-founder of AEY Inc, securing large US military contracts. He and partner Efraim Diveroli pleaded guilty to defrauding the government. Packouz served seven months under house arrest. After the legal battle, he shifted into music technology. He founded Singular Sound and invented BeatBuddy, a popular drum-machine guitar pedal. He also worked as a licensed massage therapist during his AEY days. His story was dramatized by Miles Teller in the 2016 film “War Dogs,” where Packouz makes a cameo as a guitarist and singer. Today, he leads his own music tech company and is married with one daughter. Packouz’s net worth is estimated between $100 million and $150 million.
