Omotola Says ₦103m Cinema Gross Left A Mother’s Love Producers With ₦22m
Nollywood actress and producer Omotola Jalade Ekeinde says her film, A Mother’s Love, earned ₦103,094,633 during its cinema run, but the producers received about ₦22 million after deductions. She said exhibitors’ shares, VAT, entertainment tax, withholding tax, distribution costs and other charges significantly reduced the final amount paid to the production team. Omotola added that the experience showed the financial pressures faced by filmmakers who take their projects to cinemas. She also said 10 per cent of the ₦22 million producers’ share was donated to the Slum2School NGO, in line with a previous commitment.
