Flying Eagles Beat Ghana 4-2 to Open WAFU B U-20 Title Defence
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles began their WAFU B U-20 Championship title defence with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Ghana’s Black Satellites on Monday. Olayemi Ayinla gave Nigeria an early lead in the sixth minute, but Mohammed Zaidan equalised for Ghana in the 23rd minute. Oraro Isaac restored the Flying Eagles’ advantage before Muiz Adeleke made it 3-1 before half-time. Ghana reduced the deficit through Kelvin Nkrumah’s penalty early in the second half. Adeleke, however, converted a late penalty to score his second goal and seal the win. Nigeria, who are seeking a third consecutive title, will face Togo in their next group match on Thursday.
