Atiku: Tinubu’s Biggest 2027 Challenge Is His Government’s Record
Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar says President Bola Tinubu’s biggest challenge ahead of the 2027 election is his administration’s record, not the opposition. Responding to Tinubu’s assurance that INEC would remain neutral, Atiku said the President should focus on inflation, food insecurity, unemployment, insecurity, exchange-rate instability and declining investor confidence. Atiku argued that political rhetoric cannot ease the hardship faced by Nigerians. He said voters would judge the administration by its performance on the economy, security and living conditions. The African Democratic Congress also criticised Tinubu’s remarks, saying elections are won through performance and urging the government to prioritise terrorism, banditry and kidnapping.
