EFCC Arraigns Microfinance Bank MD for N19m and $30,000 Investment Fraud

Blessing Gozi-Anyaokei, Managing Director of Viscount Microfinance Bank, was arraigned by the EFCC in Abuja for allegedly converting N19 million and $30,000 entrusted to her for investment. She faces two counts under Sections 311 and 312 of the Penal Code Act and pleaded not guilty. The court granted her bail on strict conditions and adjourned the trial until July 19, 2026. In a separate hearing, Ugochukwu Daniel Ifeanachor was charged with obtaining N20 million under false pretence for computer purchases and laundering the proceeds through his Access Bank account. He also pleaded not guilty and was remanded at Kuje Correctional Centre, with his trial set for July 6, 2026.
