Delta Police Break Up Major Drug Ring, Seize Large Haul in Ugholo and Abraka
The Delta State Police Command has achieved a major breakthrough in its crackdown on drug-related crimes, arresting four suspects and recovering large quantities of illicit substances in coordinated raids across the state. On April 15, operatives from the Otorokpe Division raided a suspected hideout in Ugholo community. They arrested a 33-year-old woman and seized two large bags plus 300 small cans of suspected cannabis, 30 bottles of codeine, 10 sachets of tramadol, and 400 empty distribution containers. A day later, the State Anti-Cult Unit conducted a follow-up operation in Abraka. Three more suspects were taken into custody and significant amounts of Indian hemp and other prohibited drugs were recovered. Delta’s Commissioner of Police praised the professionalism and intelligence-led approach of the officers. He urged residents to keep sharing credible information to help sustain the fight against drug networks in the state.
