RSUTH to Host 2026 National Cleft Care Conference in Port Harcourt
The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has been selected to host the 2026 National Conference of the National Association of Cleft Care Professionals (NACLP). This honour follows the hospital’s benchmark record in cleft lip and palate surgeries under the leadership of Chief Medical Director Prof. Chizindu Alikor. During a courtesy visit, NACLP National President Prof. Ugochukwu Nnadozie and Mrs. Adaobi Nnadozie praised Prof. Alikor and Dr. Oti Nimi Aria for their extraordinary contributions. They highlighted RSUTH’s high caseload and its distinction as Africa’s youngest partner in advanced cleft care. The conference will bring surgeons, cleft care specialists and health policymakers to Port Harcourt for training sessions and to showcase RSUTH’s model of care. A collaboration with Smile Train will continue to provide free reconstructive surgeries, while the event is also expected to boost the state’s economy.
