Ex-Juventus Legend Slams Gift Orban Over Car Park Clash With Fan

Ex-Juventus Legend Slams Gift Orban Over Car Park Clash With Fan — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Former Juventus striker Gianfranco Zigoni has branded Gift Orban’s recent altercation with a fan as unacceptable. The incident took place in the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi car park after Hellas Verona’s 1-0 loss to AC Milan. Reports say Orban declined a fan’s photo request and the supporter struck his vehicle. Orban then left his car and a physical scuffle followed. Zigoni criticised the Nigerian forward’s reaction and urged players to show respect even in difficult moments. Despite Verona’s struggles, Orban has enjoyed a solid season with seven goals and three assists in 28 league matches. Fans now hope he maintains discipline off the field as well as his form on it.

What do you make of Zigoni's criticism after Gift Orban refused a fan's photo request in the stadium car park?

I rate Zigoni for calling that out—players need small gist with fans, even in the car park.

Honestly, I think he has a point—players shouldn't ignore fans at all times.

It seems odd that a professional player would turn down such a simple fan photo request in that car park after the match.

I get the frustration, but everyone has off days—perhaps we shouldn't exaggerate a single declined photo request into a major scandal.

Clubs could implement clear guidelines for postmatch interactions to prevent awkward run-ins between players and fans in parking areas.
