Intentional, Not Accidental: God’s Purpose in Jesus’ Death
Today’s reflection draws on Matthew 26:1-13 and Psalm 2:2-4. Jesus’ enemies plotted his death in secret to avoid an uproar. Yet their scheme was no surprise to God. As the plot unfolded, a woman anointed Jesus with costly perfume. Her act foreshadowed his burial preparations. Likewise, Joseph’s brothers meant harm, but God used their plot to bring good out of evil. Jesus’ death was part of God’s sovereign plan. What appeared as conspiracy against him fulfilled a greater purpose ordained before time.
