Catholic Women Leaders Warn Mothers: Don’t Outsource Parenting to House-helps

Catholic Women Leaders Warn Mothers: Don’t Outsource Parenting to House-helps

The president of the Catholic Women Organisation in Onitsha cautioned mothers against delegating child-rearing responsibilities to house-helps during this year’s Mother’s Day celebration. She decried declining parenting standards and warned that outsourcing moral and social development reflects misplaced priorities. She urged mothers to discourage indecent dressing and to embrace the virtues and discipline of earlier generations. Earlier, the CWO director spoke on the theme ‘True Love in Action,’ calling for renewed commitment to prayer. She praised mothers for demonstrating divine love through patience, kindness and steadfast family support. The archdiocesan chaplain described motherhood as a sacred calling rooted in faith and sacrifice. He appealed for unity and mutual support among mothers. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Mothering Sunday was rescheduled this year to align with Holy Week and Easter.

I'm not convinced every mother has the luxury to be home full-time; many need help just to keep up with work and bills.

Maybe a simple routine of shared tasks where parents and helpers both guide children could balance support and direct parenting.
