Stakeholders Seek Probe Into Alleged Irregularities in Nigeria’s 2025 Oil Bid Round
A coalition of oil and gas stakeholders has called for an independent investigation into Nigeria’s 2025 oil licensing bid round over allegations of irregularities in the qualification and evaluation process. The group alleged that some bidders were approached for unofficial payments in exchange for favourable consideration. It also raised questions about evaluation scores, possible waivers, conflicts of interest and whether published requirements were applied equally. The allegations have not been independently verified, and no publicly confirmed evidence of wrongdoing by the officials named has been presented. The stakeholders are asking the Federal Government, EFCC and ICPC to conduct a forensic review to clarify the claims and protect investor confidence in Nigeria’s upstream sector.
