Enugu Plans Three New Universities for AI, Education and Agriculture

Enugu Plans Three New Universities for AI, Education and Agriculture

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah says the state plans to establish three new universities: the State University of Artificial Intelligence and Technology, the State University of Education and Technology, and the State University of Agriculture, Agro-Industrialisation and Technology. He announced the proposal during the University of Nigeria, Nsukka’s 55th convocation lecture. Mbah said the institutions are intended to extend the state’s Smart Green Schools programme and prepare students for technology, innovation and agriculture-driven opportunities. The governor also said new degree programmes in automation, artificial intelligence and mechatronics have been accredited at ESUT and IMT. He added that the state is upgrading its tertiary institutions, technical colleges and TVET system to strengthen research, digital skills, enterprise and industry partnerships.
