Gunmen Kill Pregnant Woman and Husband in Barkin Ladi Attack
Gunmen attacked residents in Angwan Ishaku, Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. They opened fire on Mr Iliya Gyang, 30, and his wife, Grace, 25, as he worked outside their home. Grace died instantly, and Mr Gyang later died in hospital. Two others sustained gunshot wounds and are under medical care. The Berom Youth Moulders Association condemned the assault by suspected Fulani terrorists. The assailants fled on a motorcycle toward Fass and Mahanga. The victims leave behind one-year-old twin boys and a devastated family. The association urged security forces to launch coordinated raids to flush out militants. It also appealed to the state government to care for the orphaned twins.
