Brian Williams: NBC Anchor’s Career Highlights and Personal Profile

Brian Douglas Williams is a veteran American journalist. He joined NBC Nightly News in 1993 and was promoted to anchor and managing editor in December 2004. In 2015, Williams was suspended for six months over misrepresenting his Iraq War coverage. He was later reassigned to MSNBC and hosted The 11th Hour from 2016 until his departure in late 2021. He has won numerous awards, including a Peabody for Hurricane Katrina reporting, the Walter Cronkite Award, 12 Emmy Awards, and 11 Edward R. Murrow Awards. He was also named Father of the Year in 1996. Born May 5, 1959, Williams stands 1.85 m tall and is married to Jane Stoddard Williams. The couple has two children, and his net worth is estimated at $50 million.
