Coordinated Boko Haram/ISWAP Night Raids Kill Scores in Pulka and Benesheikh
Scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters launched simultaneous night attacks in Pulka community (Gwoza LGA) and Benesheikh town (Kaga LGA) in Borno State. Many civilians, a Civilian Joint Task Force member, and security personnel were killed. In Pulka, insurgents set road construction equipment ablaze and struck camps housing displaced residents from Ngoshe. Preliminary reports indicate heavy losses on both sides as troops engaged the attackers. In Benesheikh, the terrorists struck around 1 a.m., burning trucks and passenger vehicles halted by the evening road closure. Dozens of motorists and passengers were killed, while troops neutralized several insurgents despite casualties among security forces. Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume urged President Tinubu to equip the military with fighter jets, drones, and MRAP vehicles to end the Boko Haram threat. The Kaga LGA chairman also confirmed the attacks but said casualty figures were still being determined.
