Liverpool, Arsenal Head to Tribunal Over Nigerian-Born Teen Striker Vincent Joseph
Liverpool and Arsenal are heading to a tribunal after failing to agree on compensation for Nigerian-born teenage striker Vincent Joseph. Joseph, 16, left Liverpool after turning down a scholarship offer and has joined Arsenal. Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were also reportedly interested in the young forward. Liverpool and Arsenal could not settle on a fee, so a tribunal may now decide the compensation due. A similar case saw Liverpool pay Chelsea up to £4 million for teenager Rio Ngumoha. Joseph is eligible to represent England, Germany or Nigeria. He is the younger brother of Valentin Joseph, a promising forward who recently joined Brighton.
