Stalker Jailed for Faking Tinder Profile to Lure Men for Attack on Ex
A 36-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in prison at Chester Crown Court after creating a fake Tinder profile in his ex-girlfriend’s name. He invited dozens of men to her home under the pretense of a “rape fantasy,” instructing them that her refusal meant consent. Prosecutors say he briefly dated the victim under the alias “Mick Renney,” then launched a campaign of harassment when she ended the relationship. Around 35 men turned up at her address, and on one occasion, three men forced entry by breaking a glass panel in the porch. The victim described her home as no longer safe and said she now struggles to sleep or eat for fear someone might show up. In addition to his prison term, the judge imposed a 15-year restraining order banning him from contacting her or her daughters. Police called the case one of the most complex and disturbing stalking investigations they’ve handled, warning the true number of men deceived may never be known.
