Omo-Agege Officially Quits APC After Delta Central Primary Defeat
A former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress in a letter dated May 22, 2026. He cited recent developments in the party’s Delta State chapter and consultations with his supporters as reasons for stepping down. He requested removal of his name from all APC membership records and thanked the party for the opportunity to serve as Deputy President of the 9th Senate. His resignation follows his loss in the APC senatorial primary for Delta Central. Incumbent Senator Ede Dafinone led the contest conducted under the Option A4 voting system. According to the party’s primary committee, Dafinone polled 116,252 votes while Omo-Agege scored 3,643 votes, securing the nomination for the district.
