Lessons From Two Years in a Cherubim and Seraphim Church
I spent two years living on the compound of a prominent Cherubim and Seraphim Primate. During that time I witnessed a 21-day dry fast, strict dietary rules, and the annual wearing of white garments. Joining the local C&S congregation opened my eyes to a worship style centered on incense, candles, and symbolic colours. Their music felt like a portal. During Ariya, songs transformed ordinary people. Members spoke in tongues, danced with angelic rhythms, and delivered messages beyond themselves. I saw how chants and melodies can launch you into deep spiritual realms. This inspired me years later when I struggled to connect in worship. Playing the right hymn or praying in tongues always made a difference. My time in C&S taught me not to judge other denominations by the church I know. Each group has strengths and weaknesses. Respecting different expressions of faith can make the wider body of Christ healthier.
