Ekpo: Super Eagles’ 2-1 Win Over Iran Boosts Rebuilding Effort

Former international Friday Ekpo believes Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Iran is a positive step in the Super Eagles’ rebuilding process. Moses Simon opened the scoring in the sixth minute, slotting home from Samuel Chukwueze’s pass to give Nigeria an early lead. In the 51st minute, Akor Adams doubled the advantage after a well-weighted assist from Ademola Lookman. Iran mounted a response when Mehdi Taremi converted in the 67th minute, but the Eagles held on for the win. Ekpo praised the team’s cohesion and said the result will boost confidence as Nigeria prepares for upcoming qualifiers.

Arrange more challenging friendlies to test defensive organisation and team chemistry before Nigeria's next competitive fixtures.
