Ogun Agricultural Education Programme Reaches 80 Public Schools
Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board, in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission, has introduced a farm produce and agricultural science exhibition to strengthen practical learning in public basic schools. The programme has reached about 80 primary and junior secondary schools across Ogun State. Pupils are learning crop production, animal husbandry, fisheries, egg production, broiler rearing, and plantain and banana cultivation. SUBEB provided funds for farm tools and improved seeds, while agricultural experts trained teachers and pupils in climate-smart farming methods. Officials said the initiative is intended to build entrepreneurial skills, encourage self-reliance, and make agriculture a viable career path for young people.
