Yul Edochie Mourns Alex Ekubo and Celebrates His Life
On his Facebook page, Nollywood star Yul Edochie paid tribute to his late friend and brother Alex Ekubo. He described Alex as a bright spirit who lit up every room with his positive charm. Though he mourns deeply, Yul also celebrated the great soul Alex was and trusted in God’s plan. Yul used the moment to warn about the rising number of untimely deaths among men. He urged men to protect their well-being, cut out unnecessary stress, and focus on what they can control. Reflecting on recent losses in Nollywood, Yul attributed some of these tragedies to abandoning traditional beliefs. He encouraged Nigerians to reconnect with their heritage, saying that honoring pure traditions can shield against premature death. Earlier this year, Yul also dismissed false death rumours about his father, Pete Edochie, calling him the “Lion of Africa” and reassuring fans that his father remains strong and healthy.
