17-Year-Old Student Stabs and Kills Beloved Teacher at Russian School
Olesya Baguta, 55, was fatally stabbed by a 17-year-old student at School No. 5 in Dobryanka, Russia. The attack took place at the school gates on the morning of April 6. Colleagues rushed her to hospital in an air ambulance, but she died from her wounds. Baguta was a popular Russian language teacher and vice-principal who had been named Teacher of the Year in 2018. The suspect, Matvey, was arrested and remains in custody. He had been on a police register for behavioural issues and reportedly held a grudge against his teacher. Authorities are investigating the motive behind the brutal attack.
