Anambra Assembly Confirms Dr Uwaeme as ASHIA Executive Secretary

Dr Eze Augustine Uwaeme has been confirmed as the Executive Secretary of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency. At his confirmation, the Speaker of the Assembly urged him to forge a strong partnership between ASHIA and the House Committee on Health. He described the agency as a key support for ordinary residents under Governor Soludo’s health agenda. Dr Uwaeme said he will build on his predecessor’s progress by expanding scheme enrollment toward the goal of covering 95% of Ndi Anambra before the administration ends. He noted the annual premium remains one of the most affordable in Nigeria at N12,000 per person. He also announced a workshop for all partner hospitals to reinforce medical ethics and service quality. Enrollees are encouraged to report any facility that defaults, and ASHIA will take swift action against non-compliant centres.
