Ex-Imo Governor Udenwa Gives Kenneth Okonkwo Seven Days to Retract Extortion Allegations
Former Imo State Governor Achike Udenwa has served Kenneth Okonkwo a seven-day ultimatum to retract false allegations of extortion made during a Channels Television interview. He also demands a public apology and N5 billion in damages for injury to his reputation. Through his lawyer Soronnadi Njoku SAN, Udenwa’s letter outlines that Okonkwo’s comments on Sunrise Daily wrongly accused him and other South East leaders of extorting party aspirants. The letter warns that such defamatory statements carry legal consequences. Okonkwo is instructed to publish a strongly worded apology in five national newspapers and on prime‐time television, and to undertake never to repeat the allegations. Failure to comply within seven days will trigger further legal action.
