FEC Greenlights $2.99bn Rail Projects for Lagos, Kano and Kaduna

FEC Greenlights $2.99bn Rail Projects for Lagos, Kano and Kaduna

The Federal Executive Council has approved three major rail contracts to boost infrastructure in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna. These cities were chosen for their strategic roles as key economic hubs. The projects cover Phase 1A of the Lagos Green Line, the Kano Metro City rail and the Kaduna light rail system. Funding will come through the Ministry of Finance Incorporated, supported by counterpart contributions. Valued at about $2.99 billion, the schemes aim to improve urban mobility, raise living standards and drive productivity. Officials say this investment underlines the administration’s commitment to inclusive growth through sustainable transport.
