Bandits Kill Two Kaduna Girls After They Resisted Rape in Kagarko Abduction
On March 1, 2026, armed bandits abducted 13 people from Janjala community in Kagarko, Kaduna State. Among them were two young girls, Abida and Ummi, a vigilante member and his wife, and ten others. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of N14 million. Families managed to raise N13 million, securing the release of several captives. They promised the remaining N1 million in exchange for the men still held. After collecting the N13 million near Hayin Dam forest on April 4, the bandits informed the families that Abida and Ummi had been shot. A local source said the girls were killed when they resisted attempts to rape them. Security officials and community leaders have confirmed the killings and condemned the atrocity. They are calling for stronger measures to protect communities and rescue remaining hostages.
