US Representative Alleges Defence Minister Matawalle Offered Bribe Over Christian Genocide Report

US Representative Alleges Defence Minister Matawalle Offered Bribe Over Christian Genocide Report

Florida state representative Kimberly Daniels, who chairs the United World Congress of Diplomats, claims Nigeria’s minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle, tried to bribe a US elected official. Daniels says the move aimed to shift attention from a report linking Matawalle to targeted killings of Christians in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna and other regions. She insists she has seen evidence, including draft statements and promotional materials prepared for the offer. She has urged President Tinubu to remove Matawalle but is yet to receive any official response. Daniels warns that no pressure can silence her campaign against the violence and says the alleged inducement has only united US lawmakers further.

Skeptics will note that offering a bribe to a US congresswoman could backfire if the alleged genocide report gains more traction.
