Lagos Government to Map Public Toilets with New App

The Lagos State environment commissioner highlighted that there are 1,710 functioning public toilets across the state. He urged private businesses such as petrol stations and eateries to open their restrooms to the public as well. A tech entrepreneur pointed out a gap in awareness. His team has built software that shows residents where public toilets are and whether they are occupied. The system is already in use at the University of Ibadan. The governor’s media adviser has invited the developer to discuss rolling out the solution across Lagos State. This collaboration aims to improve access and reduce open defecation.
