Guard Your Mind: Do Not Give Temptation Permission to Land
John 13:2 shows how Judas allowed betrayal to take root in his heart. Like an airport granting clearance to an aircraft, the mind can either welcome or resist destructive thoughts and desires. Greed, lust, pride, envy, dishonesty, unforgiveness and covetousness may seek a place in our hearts. Romans 13:14 urges Christians not to make provision for the flesh. A mind filled with God’s word, prayer, praise and worship becomes hostile ground for such temptations. If you have allowed harmful thoughts or habits to take hold, there is still hope. Turn away from sinful desires, pursue a holy life, and ask God for strength to remove what is damaging your spiritual walk. Through sincere faith in Jesus, you can reclaim your mind and heart.
