Bayelsa Police Arrest Eight Suspected Cultists for Beating NDU Student

Police in Bayelsa State have arrested eight suspects, including six Niger Delta University undergraduates, over an alleged assault. The victim, Prince Hansen, a 300-level student, was attacked inside a Yenagoa hotel following a dispute over a ₦70,000 debt. DSP Musa Mohammed said officers from the Violent Crime Response Unit moved in after a tip-off from a resident around 10 p.m. on July 14. A search of the suspects yielded what is believed to be Indian hemp, Swinol and charms. Those held, aged 19 to 24, will be arraigned after the investigation is completed. The command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling cultism and urged the public to keep sharing credible information to boost community safety.
