Nigerians in the Diaspora: Speak Up for Credible 2027 Elections
I am asking Nigerians in the diaspora to take peaceful civic action in support of free, fair, transparent and credible elections in Nigeria ahead of 2027. If you live abroad, consider writing a respectful, non-partisan letter to US officials. The message should not ask America to choose Nigeria’s leaders. It should ask the United States to use diplomatic engagement to encourage Nigerian institutions and political actors to protect the integrity of the electoral process. A credible election matters to Nigerians at home and abroad. It affects confidence in democracy, stability, security, migration and the possibility of many diaspora Nigerians returning home someday. This is not a call for violence or support for any political party. It is a call for Nigerians to speak up peacefully and demand an election that reflects the will of the people.
