Sowore Explains Why He Skipped ADC Protest: ‘Atiku Will Return to Dubai’
Activist-politician Omoyele Sowore explained why he did not join the Occupy INEC protest led by ADC chieftains in Abuja. He said his activism is driven by principle, not by electoral ambitions. The protest featured former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi and Rabiu Kwankwaso. They marched to INEC’s headquarters to challenge the delisting of their faction. Speaking to journalists afterwards, Sowore said he supports any protest against electoral irregularities. He accused some leaders of only opposing during campaigns and noted that Atiku would return to his permanent home in Dubai once elections end.
