A 16-year-old girl walked into a Lagos Island police station and revealed she was being held in a hotel and forced into prostitution. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai led an operation at the hotel where around 30 underage girls were allegedly exploited. Twelve victims, including the teenager, were taken to protective custody. The hotel owner is still at large, but the woman who brought the girl to Lagos has been arrested. Investigations show the teen was unaware she would be forced into sex work.
