He spoke two days after Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso quit ADC for the NDC, citing internal battles and legal disputes. Lawal recalled that ADC even let Obi choose the organising secretary to reassure him. Yet he claims doubts about Obi’s commitment remained. On live TV, Lawal added that a politician who fears open primaries has no business in a democratic party. He insisted ADC will ensure fair contests for all members.
