Tinubu’s Hands-On Support Accelerates FCT Infrastructure, Says Wike — 1 of 4

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, praised President Bola Tinubu’s active involvement in ensuring projects meet deadlines and quality standards. He said this close supervision has driven the territory’s rapid infrastructural growth. Wike spoke after touring major roadworks, including the Arterial Road S1 from Ring Road II to the FCT Fire Service Station, and the Obafemi Awolowo Way extension linking Gwarimpa, Life Camp and Karmo. He commended the pace of work and confirmed several sections are ready for commissioning. At the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, Wike inspected ten completed staff bungalows and two student hostels. He noted the female hostel is on track for November handover, while the male hostel—though slower—should finish by the same period. He also announced a new contract for a law school auditorium and reiterated that regular inspections will keep contractors focused on timely, quality delivery.

It's interesting Wike credits Tinubu's hands-on role, but previous administrations also boasted similar project supervision claims.

Close supervision alone won't guarantee quality if funding delays or contractor issues aren't addressed alongside oversight.

To track progress effectively, citizens could compare official project timelines with on-site updates and local reports for transparency.
