1 / 4

The Rotary Club of Abuja Jabi Lakeside visited the FCT School for the Blind in Jabi and Government Secondary School Kwali under its “Bright Minds: Every Future Deserves To Be Seen” outreach. Leaders from District 9127 and the Jolomi Arenyeka Charity joined club members to deliver essential learning tools. Club president Rotarian Caroline Morah urged students to recognize their unique strengths and use the donated resources to support their studies. District Governor Dame Joy Okoro and the Basic Education Chair Rtn Amara Ezediniru highlighted the importance of inclusive education and sustained investment in special-needs learning. The project restored 12 Braille machines and supplied Perkins braillers, Braille paper, talking calculators, geometry sets, mobility canes and more. Over 120 personalized towels, dignity packs for female students and industrial waste bins addressed hygiene needs. Faculty members received tokens of appreciation for their dedication to nurturing the students’ growth.

It's impressive they supplied braille machines, but I wonder if ongoing maintenance and training were fully considered by the organizers.
