Wike-Led PDP Faction Denies Endorsing Jonathan for 2027
The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has rejected reports that it plans to nominate former President Goodluck Jonathan as its 2027 presidential candidate. The group described the rumours as false, misleading and unauthorised. National Publicity Secretary Jungudo Mohammed called on security agencies to investigate the originators of the story and prosecute anyone trying to stir tension and disrepute in the political landscape. The statement reminded the public that Senator Sandy Onor was already screened and presented as this faction’s candidate. It also urged Goodluck Jonathan to distance himself from the false claims to uphold the integrity of the democratic process.
