FIFA Bans Refillable Bottles at 2026 World Cup Stadiums

FIFA has announced that fans will no longer be allowed to bring reusable water bottles into any 2026 World Cup venue. All supporters must buy sealed bottled water inside stadiums under the new safety regulations. The updated code removes the previous allowance for transparent, empty bottles up to one litre. FIFA says the ban aims to protect the health and safety of players, referees, fans, volunteers and staff. Misting stations, hydration points and cooling tents will be available in every stadium, with bottled water sold at standard event prices. Climate experts warn that extreme heat and humidity could pose health risks under the new rules. Research shows that many matches may see Wet Bulb Global Temperature levels above 26°C, recalling similar fan complaints during last year’s Club World Cup in the United States.
