Army Thwarts Terrorist Kidnap Plot at Iluke Primary School in Kogi
Troops from the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade moved swiftly after residents in Kabba Bunu alerted them to suspicious men disguised in military uniforms. Soldiers arrived just as the attackers were gathering pupils at Iluke Primary School. A brief gun battle forced the terrorists to flee, leaving one of their own dead and several others injured. Tragically, a teacher and another community member were killed before help arrived. Security forces are now on a manhunt, with neighbouring states on high alert to block escape routes. The Army has reassured residents of its commitment to protecting lives and urged the public to continue sharing timely, credible information with security agencies.
