Unai Emery Targets Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho in Villa–Chelsea Talks

Unai Emery Targets Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho in Villa–Chelsea Talks

Aston Villa have opened discussions with Chelsea over the potential signings of Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho this summer. These talks are linked to the Morgan Rogers move to Stamford Bridge in a British-record deal, with Villa keen to reinvest as they prepare for another Champions League campaign. Villa’s summer plans have already been hit by setbacks. Midfielder Amadou Onana has suffered a season-ending injury, and Youri Tielemans has completed his move to Manchester United. The club have since agreed a deal for Swiss youngster Johan Manzambi and continue negotiations for Joao Gomes and Joao Palhinha. Jackson, who worked with Unai Emery at Villarreal, is viewed as a top target. Sources say talks will pick up pace once the Rogers transfer is finalised. Villa have also sounded out Garnacho after Chelsea informed his camp he is not in Xabi Alonso’s long-term plans. With Roma prioritising other options, the Argentina winger could consider Villa Park for regular football under Emery.

Could Villa's dual pursuit of Jackson and Garnacho disrupt Chelsea's summer plans after the Morgan Rogers deal?

Indeed, Villa's bid for Jackson and Garnacho could force Chelsea to rethink their summer strategy after Rogers.

It seems ambitious to link two significant signings to one outgoing Rogers deal without clarity on Villa's budget.

I'm not convinced Villa should chase Garnacho when Jackson alone could fill the striker role more reliably.

Villa must assess price tags and squad balance carefully, or they risk stalling progress for the sake of flashy names.
