ADC Alleges APC Plot to Sabotage Ibadan Opposition Summit
The African Democratic Congress has accused the All Progressives Congress of plotting to disrupt an opposition summit in Ibadan on April 25. The party claims the ruling party has targeted its meetings nationwide. According to ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, APC pressured Abuja venues and threatened to revoke the licence of Rainbow Event Centre to block the party’s convention. He described these actions as a sign of fear within the ruling party. Despite the alleged intimidation, the ADC convention went ahead as planned at the Rainbow Event Centre. The summit featured leaders such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso and Rauf Aregbesola. Delegates later raised concerns over poor ventilation and malfunctioning air conditioning at the venue.
