Nigeria’s New High Commissioner to India Assumes Office, Pledges Stronger Trade Ties
Nigeria’s new High Commissioner to India, Ambassador Saidu Muhammad, has assumed office in New Delhi. He pledged an inclusive leadership style and renewed efforts to strengthen relations between Nigeria and India. Muhammad was received on arrival by Nigerian High Commission officials, Indian foreign ministry representatives, members of the Nigerian community and African diplomats. He said his return to India as High Commissioner marked the culmination of a relationship with the country that began about two decades ago. He also said his tenure would prioritise stronger trade and investment ties that deliver greater benefits to Nigeria. Nigerian community leaders in India welcomed his arrival and expressed confidence that the High Commission would remain responsive to the needs of citizens and students.
